Tamworth Volunteer Sewing Group

24 April 2020

Tamworth Volunteer Sewing Group is a new initiative: Headed up by Emma, over 200 volunteers are sewing PPE for care homes and hospitals.

We are pleased to say that they are now based at St John’s community rooms, a drop off and pickup point staffed Mon-Sat.

It is also a platform for people to ask for what they need so that they feel safe to go to work.

For anyone who can knit, crochet, sew or cut fabric this group is making things for our amazing NHS. Also, if anyone has any buttons, elastic, ribbon, material, cotton wool, cotton or sewing needles to spare which can be donated it would be greatly appreciated. A few parishioners are already engaged in this.
