Get Involved

HoT is a small, local charity. To meet our funding needs we depend on the parish community, charitable trusts and other grant-making organisations. We don’t have lots of staff. Instead, we rely on our wonderful volunteers to help us deliver services and run activities.

If you have some free time to spare why not consider joining us as a volunteer? You’ll meet new people, maybe learn a new skill and help your local community at the same time.

Our volunteers get involved in all sorts of areas:

  • Helping in the Hot Café and Shop
  • Running our reception area
  • Working with young people
  • Maintaining our community facilities

Matched Giving

If you are a business, you can also get involved with our Matched Giving, a great way to increase employee engagement by showing support for the charities they care about. Matched Giving is a simple concept that can make a huge difference to organisations like ours. To learn more about Matched Giving, please click here to view our informational PDF file.

If you’d like to discuss volunteering opportunities in more detail, please contact Kelly Denton, Community Engagement Co-ordinator.

Meet Antony...

If you want to be part of our café family like Antony, please get in touch or pop in and see us.

Meet volunteer Antony Edwards, a popular member of our café family. Antony came to us from Tamworth College when we first opened, for work experience as part of his catering course. We were delighted that he continued to volunteer with us after his course finished, and he has gone from strength to strength. He now runs the kitchen on Wednesdays, and trains new volunteers on the till and coffee machine. Antony enjoys cooking and meeting new people, and is known for his calm approach to the hectic kitchen, and brilliant sense of humour. We're so proud of how much he has progressed, and love having him in our kitchen team.
