Heart of Tamworth (HoT) was established in 2012 and registered as a charity in 2014. The organisation supports people of all ages by delivering practical support to address food poverty, tackle social isolation, assist the homeless and people experiencing disadvantage.
The charity operates a successful community café, has over 40 partners and organisations delivering activities and services from its two sites and supports people across the local area. Our work is varied and relies on the help of over 140 volunteers to deliver a range of services.
Last year, following a substantial building project, we relocated our existing community food pantry into a new, purpose-built facility. In addition, we opened a pre-loved clothing store.
The charity’s trustees now wish to create a new Team Leader role to manage and develop both shops, lead and support a team of established volunteers and ensure income targets are achieved. In addition, the postholder will contribute to creating social media content and maximising revenue from online sales platforms.
Working hours will be 9.30am – 4pm, Monday – Friday (32.5 hours per week) with a starting salary of £22,260. This is a permanent contract (subject to funding). In addition, a generous holiday allowance and pension scheme is offered.
Applications are invited from candidates who can demonstrate relevant skills and experience, particularly from those who have worked within the charity retail sector and with volunteers.
Heart of Tamworth is an equal opportunities employer and we value a diverse workforce. Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background. A job-share arrangement would be considered subject to two suitable candidates being identified.
A Disclosure and Barring Service and Barred (DBS) list check will be required prior to appointment.
