H.O.T. Activities

The Foodbank continues to need our support. Thank-you to all who remember most weeks. In our town today there are people struggling to pay bills and buy food. Please just add something to your basket and bring it in.


The Memory Café offers a friendly place where people with memory loss and carers can come together in a supportive environment. The Café takes place every Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart from 10am – 12 noon. Please let possible beneficiaries know.


Bereavement Support Service We now have two Help Points, one which runs on Fridays mornings (10 – 12.00 noon) at Sacred Heart and the second at St John’s on a Thursday evening 5.30 – 7.30pm. If you know of anyone grieving, please invite them to join us, give them a leaflet that are at the back of church, or bring them along yourselves. It’s an opportunity to have a chat and meet people who understand.


Our Starfish Saturday Breakfast Club continues to meet for those who feel marginalised in any way (through poverty, mental health issues, addictions, debt etc) receiving friendship signposting and food.


Singing for the Mind: The next session is at the Sacred Heart 5th July 10.30 -11.30. If you haven't tried Singing for the Mind yet and you like singing and music, you are in for a treat! Although well-loved classics are part of the mix, we also sing more modern songs.


The Mens Club meet every Tuesday 10.00am – 12.00noon at St John’s Community rooms for a coffee, a chat about sport, a game of cards or dominos or just to be in the company of other men. If you know of a gentleman who you feel will enjoy a couple of hours with other men, pleas point them in the right direction.
